Color Through Still Life

  • Pleasant View Grange (map)

Over the course of a three-day workshop we will make a series of color poster studies. We will work small (under 8 x 10”), and place down planes of color, simplifying away all the extraneous detail. Each study will be done in 3 hours and will explore a different approach to color. We will experiment with a warm/cool palette, a 3-color palette, complementary colors, high chroma, play with how one color might read as 2 different colors based on the relationships around it. We will talk about how color can be used to organize composition. The workshop will be taught through slide lectures, demos, and individual and group critique.

Full cost of this workshop is $520. A 50% deposit is required to hold a spot. Refund policies can be found on this website. Please contact with questions or to register.
