Portrait Drawing

  • Zoey Frank Studio 105 W 2nd St Loveland, CO. 80537 (map)

Let’s face it—constructing the head deserves some extra time. During one 18 hour pose we will develop a fully rendered portrait drawing. We will have 2 models for this workshop so that students are able make close observations of the face. The focus will be on the structure of the whole head and on how the features fit within the larger structure of the skull. We will discuss proportion, anatomy, and how to creep up on finding a likeness.

$425 for the three-day workshop (model fee included). Email to register.

During 2019 I will be teaching a year-long figure series that builds from one workshop to the next. We will do figure drawing in the spring and figure painting in the fall. Students are encouraged to take all of the workshops as a progressive course, but each three-day workshop can also be taken independently. In order to get the most out of the course students can work on their own figure projects outside of class and bring those projects in each month for a critique.
