Academic Figure Drawing: Long Pose

  • Zoey Frank Studio 105 W 2nd St Loveland, CO. 80537 (map)

Over the the course of an 18 hour pose we will build from a linear block-in up to a rendered figure drawing. We will slow down in order to find greater accuracy over time. Building on the previous workshop we will focus will be on proportion, anatomy, and constructing 3-dimensional structure. Once the block-in is established we will focus on turning form: rendering the figure section by section, looking at how the smaller forms fit in the context of the larger movements from dark to light across the figure.

$425 for the three-day workshop (model fee included). Email to register.

During 2019 I will be teaching a year-long figure series that builds from one workshop to the next. We will do figure drawing in the spring and figure painting in the fall. Students are encouraged to take all of the workshops as a progressive course, but each three-day workshop can also be taken independently. In order to get the most out of the course students can work on their own figure projects outside of class and bring those projects in each month for a critique.
